West Houston Arterials & Express Streets

Region-wide arterials provide the critical link from higher speed freeways and local distributors.  Arterial development in the Houston region generally lags significantly in development and under performs as contributor to mobility.  There is, therefore, a need to place more financial emphasis on constructing arterials as a means of carrying shorter trips.  This would reduce the traditional dependency on freeway trips.

This is a report on the deployment of several key West Houston arterials critical to mobility in the region.  Not all projects listed here have been adopted by a government agency for implementation but rather are proposals of the West Houston Association for better traffic flow in the region.
