Our Map depicts the 1,000 square mile Greater West Houston area with 2010 land uses, both existing and planned.

Since 1979 The West Houston Association has been a leader, and mapper, of the growth of Greater West Houston.  We consider our members to be at the forefront of creating our community and a vital part of our efforts to promote quality growth.

As an advocate for public policies that result in higher quality of development, the Association continues to represent you on issues that impact your business interests both today and long into the future.

Mapping Greater West Houston in 2010:

*       Greater West Houston is home to 1.2 million residents with employment of 520,000.  WHA forecasts the area’s 2050 population will reach 2.2 million and employment will exceed 924,000.

*       The Urban Core of Greater West Houston—The Energy Corridor, Westchase and Memorial City –centered on the new Interstate 10 West & Sam Houston Parkway consists of over 30 million square feet of office space and 130,000 employees—is one of the largest in the Houston region and would rank as the 11th largest downtown in the United States.  It is larger than the Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin central business districts combined.

*       Quality, Master Planned Residential Communities provide masterfully designed homes throughout Greater West Houston that offer a wide variety of housing opportunities

*       Livable Centers—From CityCentre to LaCenterra and many more in the future, offer families and visitors numerous venues bringing new vibrancy to West Houston living and working environments

*       Greater West Houston is laced together with many of the metropolitan region’s newest and best mobility projects.  The latest techniques for sustainable development and environmental sensitivity are deployed to protect and enhance property and quality of life.
