CITY OF HOUSTON PROPOSES NEW COMMERCIAL BUILDING HEIGHT STANDARDS

The Houston Planning Commission has heard public comments on a proposed Height Buffering Standards or High Density Ordinance through its scheduled hearing on July 21st.  The proposal establishes buffers between single family and new commercial development.  Exempted are developments along major thoroughfares, transit corridors and in major activity centers (MACs).  Greater West Houston has three MACs: Energy Corridor, Westchase and Memorial City/Town & Country.  The West Houston Association will be making comments on these proposals.  The ordinance and presentation are available at this external website
