Committee Challenges & Opportunities

As Greater West Houston grows with 1 million new residents and 500,000 new jobs by 2050, housing and commercial facilities to accommodate the this growth will be critical.  Equally as critical in our view is the quality of this development.

The foot print of Greater West Houston's growth will expand by 100% by mid-century.  We must ensure this growth is quality growth.

Residential products most admired are the "master planned" communities.  Attributes and standards that make these communities special form the backbone of the Quality Planned CommunitiesTM effort by the West Houston Association.

We see this effort being a vehicle to encourage smaller developments in Greater West Houston to see the benefits that enhanced development standards can bring their projects.

"Quality Planned Communities TM " is a registered trade mark of the West Houston Association.
