| The Texas Department of Transportation has proposed a
statewide system of multi-use routes that will incorporate highways, rail
and utility rights of way as a way of addressing the state's future
transportation needs. Two of the Trans Texas
Corridors are currently under evaluation and environmental study: Trans
Texas Corridor 35 or TTC/35 and TTC/I-69. TTC 35 will roughly parallel
the Central Texas I-35 and TTC/I-69 will parallel US 59 and US 281 and US 77
into the Valley. You may get
additional information by following this link to the official Trans Texas
Corridor website.
Near Houston, TTC/I-69 is projected to travel to the
western portions of the region and by a link, serve the ports of Houston and
Freeport on the coast.
