Harris Plus Flood Solutions Plan Calls for Restoration of Addicks and Barker after Harvey

In an Op-Ed for the Houston Chronicle, Harris Plus Flood Solutions comprehensive flood plan was mentioned in regards to their proposed restoration to the Addicks and Barker reservoirs. The flood plan is a 57.97 billion dollar plan that includes 13 currently proposed projects that will not only help the West Houston region but the entire area PLUS the surrounding counties. The restoration of the reservoirs calls for only $2.5 billion of the entire plan and has actually been a suggested project since the USACE proposed plan in 1940. The reservoirs are in serious need of desilting and excavation and are only going to lose capacity without action.
