HCFCD Bond Program

Harris County Commissioners Court has called for a bond election to be held on August 25th, 2018. Though the exact price for the bond has yet to be set, the Houston Stronger Coalition firmly believes it will need to be at least $2.5 billion dollars to support the many projects that will help bring 100-year storm protection to the 23 major watersheds in the region.

The Harris County Flood Control District created a great interactive map that allows all residents in Harris County to see and learn about the more than 150 proposed projects that may be in their area. You can also find more information on each specific project by hitting the button below.

Proposed Projects List

When you visit the interactive map you will be prompted to enter the address of your home, place of business or any other location you may be interested in. Once entered you can view the map and review the specific projects relevant to your individual watershed. There’s a chance you may even potentially identify an opportunity for new project in your area. The HCFCD welcomes your input and urges you to attend their Community Engagement Meetings which will be held right up until early voting in August. Please join the Flood Control District in your watershed to provide comments and/or feedback!
