Lone Star College Excellence Award Recipient Joins WHA As New Communications and Outreach Manager

 


Lawanda Maxwell, MBA joined the West Houston Association as the Communications and Outreach Manager on January 17, 2020.

Maxwell is an adjunct professor at Lone Star College, teaching e-commerce, marketing, and business law.  On February 7th, she was one of four adjunct professors at Lone Star College-CyFair to receive an Adjunct Excellence Award, a teaching excellence award.  She was recognized for also being student invested, an expert in her role as a professional marketer, and for fostering a positive culture in the LSC community.

Professor Maxwell has almost 4 years of experience teaching post-secondary students and over 9 years of experience in the marketing field. She was previously the Chief Consultant/President of La Max Marketing. She has been contracted to work on projects of a variety of sizes, the largest being a Fortune 500 company in the banking industry. Her experience has impact business in the health care, banking, non-profit, retail, and the education industries. She has also worked on successful campaigns with various organizations across the nation to advocate for causes, including but not limited to: Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, autism, veteran support, mental health, and breast cancer awareness.

Maxwell will lead WHA’s efforts on its websites, blog, social media, publications, public relations, and messaging and will be an important contributor to WHA’s initiatives, events, and member engagement.
