Lone Star College Excellence Award Recipient Joins WHA As New Communications and Outreach Manager

 


Lawanda Maxwell, MBA joined the West Houston Association as the Communications and Outreach Manager on January 17, 2020.

Maxwell is an adjunct professor at Lone Star College, teaching e-commerce, marketing, and business law.  On February 7th, she was one of four adjunct professors at Lone Star College-CyFair to receive an Adjunct Excellence Award, a teaching excellence award.  She was recognized for also being student invested, an expert in her role as a professional marketer, and for fostering a positive culture in the LSC community.

Maxwell worked on successful campaigns with various organizations across the nation to advocate for causes including veterans, Hurricane Harvey, PTSD, Autism, and Breast Cancer Awareness.

“WHA is so fortunate that Lawanda is part of our team.  Her experience in business and advocacy and her marketing, web, graphics, media, and people skills will improve WHA’s reach to its members and the community,” said Augustus “Auggie” Campbell, WHA President/CEO.

Maxwell will lead WHA’s efforts on its websites, blog, social media, publications, public relations, and messaging and will be an important contributor to WHA’s initiatives, events, and member engagement.
